It is strongly advised that the student spend considerable time thinking and organizing his answer before writing. Your answer will not be graded as to its quantity, but rather as to its ability to integrate creatively the reading and lecture material of this course in a personal statement of your understanding of ethics. If this question seems too easy, it isn't.

Answer three (3) of the following four (4) questions. (½ hr.. each) (Avoid giving an answer that would duplicate the material covered in your essay question above.) 2. Discuss the history of the struggle between science and theology, and appraise their relationship at the present time. Give special attention on the present scene to the thought of bt and bu (Psychotherapy and the Christian View of Man). 3. Compare and evaluate the phrases 'religion as ultimate concern' and 'religion as the worship of God.' In answering, give reference to the chapter on "The Existence of God" in bv's Philosophical Understanding and Religious Truth. 4. Discuss the relevance of bw's essay on 'demythologizing' and bx's essay on "Religion as the Inexpressible" (in New Essays in Philosophical Theology) for by's analysis of religious language. 5.
