Dear Mrs. Kotschnig:

I am sorry that I answer so late but I have been out of town several times during the last two weeks and was not able to dictate to my secretary.

I have known Mrs. Elkisch since 1920 and estimate her very highly as a person from the point of view of character and education. As a student of the University of Berlin she was considered particularly gifted and highly thought of. She has had a Jungian analysis in Berlin and has even worked with Jung himself. She was a lay analyst before she came to this country. Here she has had years of experience in psychiatric treatment in some agencies or clinics. I believe that she is particularly qualified for both therapy and teaching. From her dissertation1 – she got her Ph. D. in Michigan – and her publications which I have seen I must say that she [is] also a fascinating writer. With regard to leading a discussion group, I am sure that, if she should like to do it, she would do well. She has given lectures here at various places, I don't remember tho' where, and was very successful.|

I hope that this answers your questions.

I envy Walter that he could go to Austria. I am sorry that neither Mrs. Tillich nor myself could attend the group meetings this winter. Always something unforeseen happened when we intended to come. I hope this will be better next winter.
