I hope you agree with the enclosed letter.¹ I had a hard time to write it. Please, consider carefully whether it is all right. I have been wondering whether you might mention that you have my „Education and Experience Record“ (I enclose a copy of it, too) from which you got all the pertinent information. However, if you feel that you should mention this, the letter would have to be rewritten, I am afraid. Well, you know best how to handle this wisely. Please, keep in mind that, since I shall work in Philadelphia (Details anzeigen)^c in a group where Mrs. K. (Details anzeigen)^d is well known and where she certainly has quite an influence, this letter is important, it will set the „stage“ for me.

I called your office this morning for I thought I would come personally and bring the letter for you to sign it. Unfortunately you are not in your office today, so I send it all by mail.
