Dear Prof. Tillich:

When I was at your home with Prof. Kempner in November of last year, we discussed the present state of German universities. I told you at the time that I had a manuscript „deep down in my files somewhere“, dealing with the University at Erlangen.

Unfortunately, these manuscripts arrived only a short time ago, and I have translated them for further use.1

The story broke last July even in the papers of this country, but not in such great detail.

Are you still planning to teach in Germany? As you know, Prof. Kempner went back a short while ago, to take over the Ministerial Case in the forthcoming trials at Nuremberg. I personally haven't made up my mind yet of whether I should return to Europe or stay here.
