Dear Mr. Tillich (Details anzeigen),

I imagine you must have been wondering about my silence after Franziska (Details anzeigen) had told you that we wanted very much to have you come to Yale for a discussi group. The delay has been in choosing the boys to participate – which had to be done carefully, as we wanted to keep the group small enough for convenient and effective discussion – and in| setting a proliminary meeting. The upshot is that a group of nine boys will meet next Tuesday, April 16, to discuss your chapter in The Christian Answer (Details anzeigen).1 We feel that we can profit more from a meeting with you if we have this opportunity to discuss the article among ourselves and make sure we understand its implications. Mr. Richard Niebuhr (Details anzeigen) has| very kindly offered to assist us in this.

Would it be possible for you to come to New Haven (Details anzeigen) some evening during the week of April 21? Unfortunately only Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday would be possible for the students in the group, most of whom are very busy.

If it would not be possible for you that week| perhaps you could come the week of May 6th (any night except Thursday) when we will be back from spring recess.

We would of course be glad to pay your expenses, and get you a room for the night, should you care to stay in New Haven (Details anzeigen).

I think it would be deeply appreciated by these students if you could manage to come| for an evening. They are all impressed with the fact that your article (Details anzeigen) has the intellectual content which they feel Christianity in general lacks.

Hoping to hear from you in the near future.
