Dear Professor Tillich:

Referring to the telephone conversation your secretary had with our Mr. Nathan today, I would like to advise you that Special Events broadcasts customarily are not paid for. They are considered a contribution to the war effort.

There is, however, a possibility to compensate the speaker for expenses which he had in order to prepare and record the talk. These expenses are being repaid on request only. The approved rates vary from $5.- to $12.-.

We have requested your compensation from our agency, Short-Wave Research, but we must ask you to register at Short-Wave Research, 730 Fifth Avenue, Room 1106. You can register there at any time at your convenience. After you registered, the check will be mailed to you within a period from several weeks to approximately two month.
