I have just read with great interest your articles which appeared in the „Protestant“, and in the main I find myself in general agreement with the views you have so clearly expressed. I am not quite sure, however, whether you are in favour of a union of the English-speaking peoples as well as the federation of Europe, or whether you want Great Britain (Details anzeigen)^c to be one of the members of the European federation.

I can't help feeling that in order to bring the United States (Details anzeigen)^d permanently into a close association with Europe (Details anzeigen)^e, the best approach would be through a World federation, of which the English-speaking peoples, the Soviet Union (Details anzeigen)^f, a Far-Eastern federation, and a United States of Europe would be constituent members.

I am taking the liberty of sending you |:(under separate cover):| a book which has recently been published in which I have endeavoured to | outline this proposal. I imagine that our views are more or less in common, and I shall be extremely grateful if you would send me your comments and criticisms after you have read the book.

I must apologise for inflicting myself upon you without any formal introduction.
