Dear Dr. Tillich,

As I am running downstairs to post an order for 30 copies of your WAR AIMS, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your courtesy in giving me the two copies, and also to tell you how much I appreciate your INTERPRETATION OF HISTORY – such parts as I have read! I only began it since returning from Christmas holidays.

I am going to see that quite a few people at Teachers College get copies – Dr. Goodwin Watson –(for whom I happen to be doing this paper) – Dr. Ernest Johnson and a number of others. Also, some prominent Chinese leaders. (As I am a missionary from China.)

I am indeed grateful to my friend, Miss Scudder, for sending me this copy. (She despairs of converting me to Pacifism, however!)
