                     <p>Hannah Tillich (17. Mai 1896 – 27. Oktober 1988) war eine deutsche und später US-amerikanische Zeichenlehrerin, Malerin, Schriftstellerin und Modell. Aufgewachsen im Pfarrhaus ihrer Eltern in Rotenburg an der Fulda, absolvierte sie von 1912 bis 1916 eine Ausbildung an der Königlichen Kunstschule zu Berlin und arbeitete ab 1919 als Zeichenlehrerin in Berlin-Neukölln. 1920 heiratete sie den Maler Albert Gottschow, von dem sie sich nach kurzer Ehe und einem persönlichen Schicksalsschlag wieder trennte. 1924 ging sie die Ehe mit Paul Tillich ein, mit dem sie in Marburg, Dresden und Frankfurt lebte und 1933 in die USA emigrierte. Nach der Geburt zweier Kinder nahm sie Mitte der 1930er Jahre ihre künstlerische und schriftstellerische Tätigkeit wieder auf. Internationale Aufmerksamkeit erlangte sie mit ihrer autobiographischen Schrift From Time to Time (1973), in der sie offen über ihr Leben und ihre Ehe berichtete; eine deutsche Ausgabe erschien erst 1993.</p>
